How to unlock a tracfone

Tracfone is well known for its non-contract services as a prepaid mobile service provider. Being able to enjoy the fastest networks from the US and in some parts of Mexico, Tracfone is an affordable way to get connected while you’re on a budget.

And today at UnlockBase, we’re happy to announce that we now support unlock for all Tracfone devices including its subsidiaries Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, Total Wireless, Walmart Family Mobile, and GoSmart, Net10 Wireless, and Page Plus Cellular.

If you own a Tracfone device or any of the above-mentioned prepaid services carrier, you can now have your phone unlocked so you can use it on any network across the globe!

How to Permanently Sim Unlock Tracfone Devices

All Tracfone (and its subsidiaries) devices, both GSM and CDMA, can now be unlocked through UnlockBase.

The process is fairly easy. Here’s how:

1. Dial #TFUNLOCK# (#83865625#) to open the Unlock Code menu

2. The device will ask for 2 Unlock Codes: In the first field, please enter the MCK/DEFREEZE Code. In the second field, please enter either the SPCK code OR (in case you did not receive an SPCK code), the NCK/NETWORK code.

3. Your device will show a “Device Unlocked“ message and may reboot.

4. That’s it – Your device is now successfully unlocked and ready to use with any GSM carrier worldwide!

Having your Tracfone phone unlocked is easy, the unlock codes for your device will be provided by UnlockBase! If you want to have your Tracfone phone unlocked, we have to know a few information from you in order for us to generate the unlock codes.

We need your device model number, its IMEI or serial number (how to know your IMEI code here), and your carrier.

How to Know If You’re Using Tracfone GSM or CDMA Phone

There are two types of Tracfone devices, CDMA and GSM. It is important to know that an unlocked CDMA phone will only work with CDMA carriers, and an unlocked GSM phone will only work with GSM carriers.

If you are planning to switch carriers, please make sure that your phone is compatible with the type of network your new carrier is servicing.

Although most carriers in the USA are GSM, many carriers such as Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular still use CDMA. On the other hand, the more commonly known carriers that are GSM are T-Mobile and AT&T.

If you are unsure what type of Tracfone you own, here is an easy way how:

For older Tracfone device

• If your phone model ends with a “G”, then it means you are using a phone compatible with a GSM carrier.

• If your phone model ends with either a “C” it means you are using a phone compatible with a CDMA network.

For new Tracfone device

• If your phone model ends with “VL” it means it’s using the Verizon-LTE network.

• Some GSM phones from Tracfone use “AL” or “BL” which means they are either using AT&T LTE or T-Mobile LTE. There are also “DL”and “TL” models both of these are GSM as well.

For the best experience with your unlocked Tracfone device, we recommend that you choose the carrier which has the best coverage in your area.

Conclusion

For the best experience with your unlocked Tracfone device, we recommend that you choose the carrier which has the best coverage in your area.

Moreover, please note that most of the world uses GSM, good to know if you want to travel outside the USA and want to use a Tracfone device.

Let me start off by saying that you can get this phone for FREE if you are planning to port over to MetroPCS. The same model is also available through T-Mobile (different version) with a $150 price tag, a little higher than MetroPCS, but with no significant difference on the tech specs. Do note that this phone may be cheap, but it doesn’t come unlocked. There’s only one way to permanently unlock your phone and that is through the Mobile Device Unlock app already pre-installed in the unit.

Moto E5 Play: Nothing fancy but worth it

The Motorola E5 Play does not boast any fancy features, it doesn’t have a striking look that will make you “wow” in its appearance, but for the affordable price tag, it is no wonder one of the best value budget phones for the year 2018.

Although this phone came out together with its brother the Motorola E5 Plus, they are two worlds apart, and the latter is priced a little higher but for good reasons. It has a whopping 5000mAh battery and more advanced tech specs.

It runs on the Android Oreo 8.0 and has a 2GB of RAM packed together with a 1.4GHz Quad-core processor. It also has a huge 2800mAh battery that can last you a day on a single charge and comes with a 16GB built-in storage space which is expandable through a microSD card.

What makes this model a winner for us for its price is its 3.5mm headphone jack and fingerprint reader located at the back.

With these features on board, it tells us that Motorola had been all out on the technical specs and the quality of experience you would get for a budget phone.

Moto E5 Play Design

The Motorola E5 Play is has a straight up plastic back cover- it’s nothing shiny or glass-like on the outside, but it has a huge screen standing 5.2 in tall.

This is complemented by good front and rear cameras that both hhavea flash and autofocus features; giving you bright and crisp photos. The back camera is 8MP and the front camera is 5MP.

Despite having the tagline “Everyday. Extraordinary,” there is pretty much nothing extraordinary about the Motorola E5 Play on the outside that would make it stand out; only that it is fairly priced and has decent enough features for a smartphone in 2018.

But the unique selling point of this phone compared to the other budget smartphones is its water-repellent coating.

It is not waterproof; it is just water-repellent. This means that it cannot survive underwater submersion, but it cannot be easily penetrated by water.

It is indeed the bottom line Motorola phone but it doesn’t mean the E5 Play had compromised all the good stuff. It has a remarkably loud and clear speaker, ga ood camera with a flash, and a fingerprint sensor.

Moto E5 Play vs LG Aristo 2

It’s a bit unfair if we compare the Moto E5 Play to the Moto E5 Plus because they have a considerable price difference, so we will compare it to another phone within the same price range, which is the LG Aristo 2 when it comes to the features.

Specs Motorola E5 Play ($139) LG Aristo 2 ($139)
Processor 1.4GHz Quad-core processor 1.4GHz Quad-core processor
Phone Height 5.95in 5.7in
Front Camera 5MP with Selfie flash 5MP with Selfie light
Rear Camera 8MP with Autofocus with flash 13MP PDAF with LED Flash
Internal Memory 16GB (8.64GB usable) 16GB (9GB usable)
External Memory Up to 128GB via microSD card Up to 32GB via microSD card
Battery Size 2800mAh 2410mAh
RAM 2GB 2GB
Features Fingerprint Sensor, Water-repellent coating Face Unlock, Fingerprint scanner

It’s clear to see that both phones have almost similar features. The better phone actually depends on personal preferences, whether you like a big phone like Motorola Moto E5 Play or a smaller phone like LG Aristo 2.

If you’re more concerned about the quality of the images and having a better camera, the LG Aristo 2 might be the best for you. But if you are more concerned about power and longer battery life, the Moto E5 Play is clearly the better option.

Moto E5 Play – Conclusion

The Motorola Moto E5 is a budget phone so if you plan to get this phone, always remember to manage your expectations.  Nothing about it has a wow factor, but it offers a remarkably clean Android experience and all the complete security necessities we would be looking for in a smartphone.

With the Moto E5 Play, Motorola has once again proven that they are truly a lord of budget phones always going beyond the price and giving a better experience every time.

The year 2017 has been a golden era for budget phones, and T-Mobile for sure did not let the opportunity go. And on the last quarter of the same year, the T-Mobile Revvl Plus was born; a huge 6-in phablet, and one of the first devices under T-Mobile’s own line of smartphones.

But, is this $175-phone even worth considering?

Well, you might want to give this phone a second look because we found out that it offers high-end features you would only often find in branded flagships.

Do you want to permanently unlock your T-Mobile Revvl Plus? Here’s how to do it.

Technical Specs

Here’s an overview of what an almost $200-phone (after taxes) from T-Mobile gives you.

To make the decision-making process easier, we compared it with another branded phone under T-Mobile of the same price tag.

You’re welcome.

It’s clear that the T-Mobile Revvl Plus ticks check in almost every box, but there are a lot of things some people who had it don’t like about it. Let’s go through what the major deal breakers are when you get the T-Mobile Revvl Plus.

Can you use a T-Mobile Branded Phone like the Revvl Plus with another carrier?
Absolutely! This is how you do it.

Design Quality

Here comes the compromise. For the high-end features and fast processor, T-Mobile compromised how the Revvl Plus looked like on the outside. After all, aren’t we all concerned about the usability of the device at the end of the day?

However, a lot of people still value looks and being flashy as much as they do about speed and quality, and yet the majority of budget phones are designed this way.

And if you are planning to get a pretty phone like the Samsung Galaxy J3 Star instead of the Revvl Plus, you might be compromising a handful of better features along the way.

Having a budget phone doesn’t ultimately mean having an ugly-looking one, because if you are willing to spend a few bucks more you might just get a better-looking phone with similar specs just like the LG Stylo 4.

The phone’s design is not that bad after all. It has a touch of fuschia, the same as the brand’s color, and it comes with a fingerprint sensor, ergonomically located at the back.

For a $200-phone that’s a plus.

Gaming, Speed, And Overall Usability

If this is not the reason why the Revvl Plus only got 2.5 Stars from T-Mobile Customer reviews, we don’t know what is. A lot of people complain about the speed of the device, but since this is a budget phone, one should always manage their expectations.

The 2GB RAM on this phone makes it possible to run a heavy gaming app, but that doesn’t guarantee there will be no lags or hiccups. Since this is one of the very first phones from T-Mobile, it is expected that certain system glitches or bugs may still be unsolved.

Also, the phone comes with a lot of heavy bloat apps already, so not all of that 2GB RAM is ultimately usable; only a part of it is, and that could affect the phone’s overall performance.

Another deal breaker is the phone’s Operating System. It still runs on Android Nougat, and that means you are losing a handful of helpful features that is only present on the latest Android System Oreo.

With Oreo, you can have multiple displays, so you can split your screen and do two things at the same time, seamlessly. Oreo also has updated auto-fill features making it easier to login without typing in so much information.

Using this phone for social media and other related tasks should go very well, and multitasking on this phone should go smoothly as long as you are not running very heavy apps in the background.

Camera, Battery Life, Other Features

You hardly ever get cameras this nice under a $200 price, but T-Mobile even got us a dual-rear camera!

This phablet also comes with a huge battery that can last you all day! The phone comes with a huge screen, but it is neither too heavy nor too light, giving it a premium feel on your hands.

Want to permanently unlock your T-Mobile phone for another carrier? Let us help you!

Conclusion

For the price, this budget phone is really worth considering. The phone is packed with a powerful processor, a huge battery, and a good supporting RAM for a much better performance.

It may have compromised the looks, but T-Mobile made sure to make the overall eperience on this device better than most budget phones you would find in the market.

The LG Stylo 4 was recently released by MetroPCS, although it was first rumored to be a part of T-Mobile. LG had released a lot of phones lately, including the LG Stylus Series, and many users are confused whether they should upgrade to that or this specific model. The LG Stylo 4 is valued $239 in MetroPCS but they’ve cut it down to $179 as an in-store credit (discount). It is also being offered by Cricket Wireless and it retails at $229.99.

There are a lot of offers from MetroPCS now, including a FREE iPhone SE when you SWITCH, but new things always fascinate us. And besides, who wants an expensive iPhone that is clearly a downgrade of Apple’s earlier versions?

Hopefully, through this article, we will be able to help you answer a few of your questions. Is it worth to upgrade to LG Stylo 4? What makes it standout from the rest of its competition? Stay tuned…

LG Stylo 4 Versus Other Midrange

LG Stylo 4 is the total definition of an “up” game from LG. This year, the Seoul-based tech giant geared into increasing screen size to stand out from other major competitions that are already competing in the 6 inches arena.

The LG Stylo 4 stands gigantic at 6.2 inches and the iPhone SE will look like a midget standing only 4.87 inches tall. Other 2018 mid- range phones like the Samsung J7 Prime stands only 5.5 inches, while the previous version LG Stylo 3 Plus stands 5.7 inches.

This year, LG is trying to break through the mid range barrier by proving that size really matters, and the LG Stylo 4 does a very great job at standing out, and well, standing tall.

The Stylo 4’s huge screen full-vision display really needs a big battery, we are yet to hear the reviews of battery life on this one just because it’s pretty new, but it is disappointing that it only has a 3300mAh battery, only slightly larger than the previous version Stylo 3 Plus which has 3200mAh.

Still on this latest series, LG is trying to bring people the comfort of having a phone with a stylus, that is commonly known to be an arena for the Samsung Galaxy Note series. The LG counterpart is nowhere near half the price of any Samsung Galaxy Note phone but it sure is more than decent for its price.

It also has a built-in stylus and has an updated software for you to take notes and create GIFS conveniently.

Just like the usual mid-range phone, the Stylo 4 has enough machinery to compete- 2 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, runs on Android 8.1, and an octa-core Snapdragon processor.

You’d love the fact that at such a low price point it already has a fingerprint processor- that is definitely one step ahead the competition. Well done, LG.

The fingerprint sensor also acts as a quick access button that is programmed to several features.

It has facial scan, but of course, that is not going to win against the iPhone X.

It also charges fast through a reverse USB type C charger, so that’s a big plus for the LG Stylo 4.

The cameras aren’t bad but they aren’t great either. The main camera is 13MP and the front camera is 5MP with wide-angle lens. There’s a Portrait mode that lets you blur your background like a DSLR trick, but since the images are gradient at night, that trick is not going to work.

There’s more to the camera than insta-perfect pictures, because with the QLens feature of this phone, you can use your captured images to search for something online. But then again, that isn’t something new.

As for the audio, it has a DTS:X Surround sound feature, not sure if you’re the audiophile type that notices the sound difference no matter how little, but boy are the speakers awesome.

Final Verdict: Unlocking LG Stylo 4

For a mid-range phone, the LG Stylo 4 really cuts it to the budget. For a budget phone, it already has enough features that is necessary for security and good performance. And yet, LG decided to go beyond that and they’ve improved so much since the LG Stylo 3 Plus.

We’re hoping LG makes more of these and keep improving them year after year, but we don’t think the consumers are ready for a drastic price increase, though.

Bottomline is, LG Stylo 4 is a great phone for those who are in a budget.

If you bought one from MetroPCS and want to use it with other providers, UnlockBase can help you Unlock LG Stylo 4. There is nothing more useful than a phone that can be used in multiple networks, wherever you are in the world.

That’s it for the LG Stylo 4.

However, this only works on compatible devices, please visit list at the bottom.

Great Phones We Unlock: Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime (SM-J327T) and (SM-J327T1)

Budget versions of higher priced phones are proving incredibly popular with many phone fans willing to sacrifice a little less performance for a significantly lower price. With this in mind, Samsung has released the budget minded Galaxy J3 Prime, and while you have to accept it’s not going to be top of the range, it’s certainly a lot of phone for the money. This Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime was launched just last month, April 2017, and comes with a 5.00-inch HD touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels.

An ideal economy choice, the phone measures 139.70 x 69.85 x 8.89 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 148.00 grams. The Galaxy J3 Prime is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 processor and it comes with 1.5GB of RAM. It also has a removable battery, which can be extremely useful in the event the phone stalls or the battery needs replacing. It runs the latest version of Android, Android 7.0 (Nougat), and has 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. As for cameras, the Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime has a 5-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 2-megapixel selfie shooter on the front. The streamlined layout of Easy Mode enables you to find everything quickly and, as the name suggests, easily.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime is a single SIM (GSM). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and an Ambient light sensor.

Samsung describes the phone as doing everything you love and yet it still fits your pocket. That’s because it’s slightly smaller than the 5.5-inch screen phones, and, of course, is set a budget price.

Great Phones We Unlock: Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950) and S8 Plus (SM-G955T)

Imagine a phone with a whole world inside it. It opens when it sees your face, learns from you and erases barriers between you and the world on an expansive, beautiful Infinity Screen.

The new Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950T) and S8 Plus (SM-G955T) brings with it a raft of cutting edge new ideas and features designed to help you live life the way you want to live it. The Galaxy S8 expansive display stretches from edge to edge, giving you the most amount of screen in the least amount of space.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is the bigger brother of the Samsung Galaxy S8. The S8 is a 5.8-inch phone while the S8 Plus is a sizeable 6.2 inches. They both feature a new design in which the “infinity display” wraps around the device, meaning that the large screen takes up almost all the front of the phone.

The new larger screen is a real turning point in flagship phone design and should usher in the end of large bezels, and the camera and slick performance work brilliantly at fingertip control. These new models may command a premium price, but make no mistake: they are truly premium phones. The screen is the clearest, sharpest offering from Samsung yet and delivers superior color reproduction to make movie watching a near cinematic experience.

Introducing Bixby

When you press the new Bixby button to access the Bixby Home screen, it learns from your routine to serve up the right apps and content at the right time, and makes it easy to ask Bixby a question or make a command. You can use Bixby, Samsung’s new intelligent interface for all sorts of daily needs including as a reminder to keep track of your to-do list, to pick up milk on the way home, or even keep track of your place in an article online.

For enhanced security, both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are equipped with the latest in iris scanning and face recognition for unlocking your phone right away. There’s also defense-grade security that stands guard around the clock.

Better camera

As for one of the most popular devices of all on any Samsung Galaxy, the 12MP Dual Pixel Rear Camera still takes amazing photos in low light, but now comes with an enhanced 8MP front-facing camera so you can take even better, clearer selfies.

Then there is Bixby Vision. It’s built into your camera to give you a deeper understanding of what you’re looking at. For example, you can focus on an object through your viewfinder, tap the Bixby Vision icon, and instantly launch into an intelligent mode to identify landmarks or translate foreign languages just by pointing the camera at the message you want to interpret. Or you can take a picture of an item you want to buy, and find the best place to buy it.

Better control

In addition to all this, the new Samsung S8 and S8 Plus keeps track of every area of your daily activity.

Samsung Health enables you to monitor everything from your steps each day to sleep to nutrition, live chat with a doctor and stay motivated with notifications.

Samsung Pay lets you carry all your cards on your devices so you can pay in-person or in-app. Plus get extra rewards for the same purchases you make every day.

Unlock ZTE ZMAX PRO from MetroPCS USA

ZTE is the fourth largest smartphone supplier in the U.S. and the second largest in the no-contract market. This month they announced the availability of the next generation of the ZMAX series, the ZMAX PRO. It’s available through MetroPCS for the affordable price of $99.00 after instant rebate. The ZMAX PRO breaks new ground as it is the first US carrier supported phone under $100 that features a fingerprint sensor, and a 3400 mAh battery. But seriously, a $99 smartphone? How good can it be?

Well, the ZTE ZMAX PRO will surprise you with its high performance for such a competitive price. The phone is packed with many of the features you would expect from a phone costing significantly more including:

  • A monster 6” Full HD LCD Display with resolution of 1920 x 1080.
  • Powered by SnapDragon 617 1.5 GHz Octacore Processor, + 2 GB of RAM
  • MicroSD slot
  • Powerful 3,400 mAh embedded battery that lasts a full day
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS
  • 13MP rear and 5MP front facing cameras
  • 32 GB of internal memory upgradeable to 128 MB with the micro SD slot
  • Fingerprint sensor for added security

MetroPCS has also added its own app store offering Metro PCS apps that come pre-installed on the device along with a variety of utilities and games, although in reality this is little more than a link to the Android app store. The ZTE ZMAX PRO also features a USB Type-C connector. The cameras have the ability to frame, shoot and edit pictures on the go. Power hungry video games are playable without pause or problems, although some apps can take a little longer to load.

Unusually, the ZTE ZMAX PRO also includes a Qualcomm® Quick Charge 1.0 enabling you to charge the phone up to 40% faster than older phones.

In terms of styling and comfort, although it’s a lot of phone, it’s comfortable to hold in the hand. The soft touch back features the fingerprint sensor, which is fast and accurate. It can also be used to quick launch apps based on the finger that you use and you can also answer phone calls just by pressing the sensor.

The original retail price of the phone is $179.99 but Metro PCS’ mail-in rebate offer whittles it down to just under the $100 price mark which makes this phone an exceptionally good deal.

Unlock Coolpad Catalyst from MetroPCS with "Device Unlock" App (Official Unlock)

The Coolpad Group Limited is a Chinese telecommunications equipment company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. It’s the largest smartphone company in terms of sales in the domestic market. With 6 R&D facilities worldwide, the company continues to invest heavily in developing innovative cellular, wireless, and mobile technology products. Producing and launching over 85 different models and 50 million handsets a year.

Released in June of this year, the Coolpad Catalyst 3622A is the fourth phone from Catalyst to reach the US market. It’s a budget, 5” 4G LTE smartphone packed with many of the features of higher cost smartphones, including full built-in video calling, Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, and a fast quad core processor for keeping in touch with friends and family and entertaining oneself on the go.

The cameras are adequate for everyday use and include a 5mp main camera with LED Flash as well as a 2mp front facing camera.

The phone comes with a 2200mAh battery. MetroPCS offers the Coolpad Catalyst with up to 80% off the retail price, meaning that after the mail-in rebate the phone could be in your hands for as little as $19.00. Not surprisingly, it’s one of the lowest cost phones in their portfolio.

While the Coolpad Catalyst is well equipped, and has 4G LTE connectivity, most of its features reflect its low budget price including the 480 x 854 pixels screen resolution, one of the lowest screen resolutions currently available. RAM memory is also only 1 GB and the low pixel cameras mean photographs could turn out looking grainy.

In terms of looks and aesthetics, for the price you definitely are not going to get a Samsung Galaxy S7, but the phone adopts a curved handheld shape. The front is glass and the glass is contained within a plastic frame. The rear shell, also plastic, wraps around to meet the frame. The display takes on a bright gray hue when off and it stands out starkly from the pitch black bezel. Overall, a reasonable, low cost, big screen entry level solution with above average call and sound quality. Designed for the smartphone newbie, or those that don’t expect or demand too much from their phone.
